Find an activity you can be enthusiastic about
You need to have an activity in your life
that leads effortlessly to you having optimistic, positive thoughts.
You need this because positive thoughts are the only things that can
create the positive feelings that must override your negative feelings.

your life...this is not an easy challenge. It requires a lot of
thinking time. That said, finding it IS possible, and if you persist in

Place yourself amongst other people
Although some of us are highly introverted,
we humans are social creatures. We need to connect with others of our

them. You don't even have to talk to them; merely be present among
them. This will help to combat the loneliness that so many social
anxiety sufferers inflict on themselves through needless isolation.
I hear you saying, “If I put myself amongst
people, it won't help for social anxiety – it'll worsen my social
anxiety. I'd rather be alone. At least that way I won't experience
horrible anxiety symptoms.”
The loneliness that comes from being
isolated is SO much more painful than even the worst anxiety symptoms.
However stressed you get during a social situation, that is always less
painful than being alone all the time.

It's worth me mentioning here that if you

Stop getting bullied
An alarmingly high proportion of people who

them, or at some point has been a problem for them. I can see exactly
why this pattern exists. The shy impression that you 'give off' as a

Bullies pick on people who they perceive to
be weaker than themselves. This means that in order to stop yourself
from being bullied, you must stop coming across as weak in the eyes of
other people; or in other words you must radiate a stronger presence.

like a more dominant character. However, my main tip here is to learn
to fight. Spend 6 months (but preferably longer) learning some kind of
self defence system.
I learnt Krav Maga (the moves
Jason Bourne uses!). I found it to be simple, yet effective too. I
would recommend that you learn Krav Maga, but if you choose a different
system, that's cool.
Why learn self defence?
It will change your body language. You'll
stop coming across so submissively in the eyes of others. They'll be
able to read your body language well enough to know that you're not
worth picking on. Bullies don't pick on those that they believe may

Force yourself to exercise
When you're feeling down, the last thing

slumped to one side on your bed. I know. I've been there.
However, it's important that you force
yourself to exercise when you have spare time. It doesn't have to be
much – star jumps in the bathroom are just fine!
Why is exercise such important emotional

and then emotionally you feel better. It's as consistent as gravity.
Try this once. As soon as you notice that

Watch, play or read something
Watch a movie. Play a video game. Read a
book. Such activities will distract your mind away from the negative
thoughts that create the depressive feelings. This is a very short-term
