THE Cause of Social Anxiety Disorder:
Your Desire To Avoid Certain
Within Social Situations
The cause of Social Anxiety Disorder
is the reality that in
social situations, there are certain potential 'outcomes' that you want
to avoid happening (within those situations).
When I say outcomes you want to avoid, I mean that
there are certain
things that could happen in social situations that you do not want to
happen. What I am suggesting is that your desire to avoid those things
from happening, is what causes your Social Anxiety.
Why should you believe that what I'm saying is
any situation that makes a person anxious,
there is a potential
happening (an outcome) within that situation that the person wants NOT
to happen; to AVOID happening...
In a physical fight, we desire to avoid being hurt
or killed. In an
interview, we desire to avoid missing out on the job. In sport, we
desire to avoid losing. In an exam, we desire to avoid failing. On a
date, we desire to avoid being thought of as unattractive.
I just showed you that within every possible
situation, there is at least one outcome that the anxious person in
question desires to avoid. My point here is: that correlation is so
strong (at 100%) that it clearly has a lot to do with the fact that the
person becomes anxious in the first place.
Given that 100% of anxiety-inducing situations
have within them a
potential outcome that the anxious person wants to avoid, this
obviously includes social anxiety. People who suffer from social
anxiety evidently desire to avoid certain outcomes within the social
situations that make them anxious.
Since you are here reading this, I guess I can
assume that you
suffer from problematic social anxiety, much like I did for just under ten years.
being the case, you may already be beginning to recognize that, when
you think about it, there are outcomes that you want to avoid happening
within the social situations that you find yourself in each
going to make very clear to you that this 'desire to avoid' of yours,
triggers your social anxiety.

desire to avoid
certain outcomes in social situations. Click the above title, and

evidence that you have this desire to avoid, is a list of avoidant
behaviours that YOU use towards social situations.
These avoidant behaviours make it obvious that you
definitely do have
this desire to avoid certain outcomes in social situations; the desire
that is the cause of Social Anxiety Disorder. Why do the behaviours
make that so obvious?
if you didn't have the desire to avoid certain outcomes in social
situations, then you'd have no reason to use the avoidant behaviours!
Additionally, if you look at the list of avoidant
behaviours (as a social anxiety sufferer), and
can clearly see that you DO use some of them, you'll then understand
the desire to avoid certain outcomes in social situations IS the cause
of Social Anxiety Disorder. Why?
way that I could know that you use these avoidant behaviours...UNLESS
they are behaviours that all social anxiety sufferers use. Obviously,
you being someone who has problematic social anxiety...THAT is the ONLY
piece of information I have on you as I write this to you.
So, given that:
Your use of the avoidant behaviours will clearly show
that there ARE outcomes in social situations that you desire to avoid,
These behaviours MUST be consistent in ALL
sufferers (otherwise I wouldn't be able to predict that YOU use these
